“Home Economics 3.0: A Critical Update”

Competition: Seeking Examples of Good Practice


Background:

To mark World Home Economics Day1 2024, the German section of the International Federation for Home Economics (IFHE)2 is launching a competition. In line with the slogan, “Home Economics 3.0: A Critical Update”, the contest is seeking examples of good practice that demonstrate how transformation can be achieved with home economics skills. In doing so, the German section of the IFHE hopes to draw attention to how home economics contributes to the quality of life of all people.

Applicants:

Individuals, institutions, organizations, or associations, as well as educational establishments for all age and professional groups, are eligible to apply for projects related to home economics skills that contribute to digitalization, diversity, resilience, or sufficiency behavior.

Application:

To apply, complete the entry form and send it to dgh@dghev.de by the closing date with “Home Economics 3.0 Competition” in the subject line of your email. Additional materials such as links, videos and photographs may be submitted in digital format (max. 5 MB).


Closing date: 31 January, 2024


Prizes:

The best practical examples will be selected from all submissions and presented in March 2024 due to the World Home Economics Day (21 March, 2024) through various social media channels and events. In this way, the winners will be promoted throughout Germany and internationally. An opportunity to expand your network in multiple directions. Two applicants will also win free tickets to the dgh Annual Conference in Fulda in September 2024 on the topic of “Lifelong learning”, as well as book vouchers.
