About the theme:

Sharing different approaches to the Home Economic curriculum: Presentations from Malta and Ireland.

The seminar host is Dr. Karen Mugliett from Malta. She is Vice President for European Association for Home Economics, IFHE executive committee member, AFPA (US) Weight Management and Nutrition & Wellness Consultant, Senior Lecturer in Nutrition, Family and Consumer Studies, as well as in Technology Enhanced pedagogies at the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta.

The HE curriculum in Malta is also presented by Stefania Calleja, an educator and food entrepreneur. She is a teacher of Home Economics, has a project Healthylicious that promotes a healthy and more conscious way of eating. She is currently the Chairperson of an NGO, Home Economists in Action (HEiA), and a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta specialising in culinary skills and applied nutrition.

The incoming President for IFHE Amanda Mc Cloat presents the HE curriculum in Ireland. She is the President of St. Angela’s College and has over 10 years senior management experience within the College, having held the position of Head of the Home Economics Department and Senior Lecturer since 2009.
